SOP for operation of Ultrasonic sonicator

I.                   PURPOSE

V.                PROCEDURE

1.0              Ensure that working area and instrument is clean.

2.0       Ensure that instrument is connected to the power supply.

3.0       Ensure that the distilled water is filled in ultrasonic bath up to 1/4^th of the total depth. 

4.0        If water is hazy, drain the water from outlet valve provided on the right side of the           instrument and replace with fresh distilled water.

5.0        Switch on the power supply and set the timer by rotating knob.

6.0        Place the prepared solution in sonicator and keep it for few minutes until the substance     gets dissolved or the homogeneity of the solution occurs as required.

7.0        After sonication switch off the instrument.

8.0      Precautions and maintenance:

8.1                 Water should be changed every day.

8.2                 Use distilled water to avoid scaling.
