I. PURPOSE
To define
the Standard Operating Procedure for Cleaning of Sparkler Filter.
II. SCOPE
This
procedure is applicable for Sparkler filter used in Production Department at Unit-V.

PROCEDURE
1.0 BATCH TO BATCH CLEANING
1.1 Ensure that the Sparkler Filter is not in
operation.
1.2 Update the Equipment status as “Under
Cleaning”.
1.3
Enter the Cleaning starting time in the equipment
usage log Format No. F01/SOPPR077-00.
1.4
Wear personnel
protective equipments as required.
1.5
Ensure that the inlet & outlet valve
of the Sparkler filter is closed.
1.6
Dismantle the
flange joints from either side of the Sparkler filter from the lines.
1.7
Transfer the
filter to cleaning area.
1.8
Unscrew the nuts on the lid of the Sparkler filter and
remove the lid from the shell.
1.9
Unscrew the center bolt and remove the filter
plate assembly.
1.10
Remove the filter plates,
meshes and filter pads one by one. Collect filter pads in a container with LDPE bag and send it to designated
solid waste staging area.
1.11
Clean the lid, filter
plates, meshes and inside of Sparkler Filter with 50 Lt of potable water.

Check inside
of Sparkler Filter for cleanliness, if it is not clean repeat the step.

1.13
Flush the Sparkler Filter,
parts and wash the platform and outer portion with 25
Ltrs of purified water.
1.14
Assemble the filter plates,
meshes and new filter pads one above the other in a
sequential manner and tighten the peripheral bolts firmly.
1.15
Place this filter plate
assembly in the Sparkler filter and tighten the center bolt. Check the
alignment.
1.16
Place the lid on the
Sparkler Filter and tighten the bolts firmly.
1.17
Wipe the platform and outer
portion of the Sparkler Filter with lint free cloth.
1.18
Transfer the Sparkler Filter
to process area and refit it to the filtration lines.
1.19
Check that the area around the sparkler filter is
clean
1.20
Update the Equipment status as “CLEANED”.
1.21
Enter the Cleaning completion time in the equipment
usage log Format No. F01/SOPPR077-00.
2.0 PRODUCT CHANGE OVER CLEANING :
2.1
Perform Batch-to-Batch
cleaning from step no. 1.1 to 1.10.
2.2
Clean the lid, filter
plates, meshes and inside of Sparkler Filter with 30 Lt of Ammonia solution.
2.3
Wash the Sparkler Filter,
parts, platform and outer portion with 100 Lt of Potable water up to neutral pH
.
2.4
Rinse the sparkler filter
and parts with 30Lt of purified water and send sample to QC.
2.5
Send swab samples to QC ,
sampling shall be done as per drawing.
2.6
Assemble the filter plates,
meshes and new filter pads one above the other in a sequential manner and
tighten the peripheral bolts firmly.
2.7
Place this filter plate
assembly in the Sparkler filter and tighten the center bolt. Check the
alignment.

Place the lid on the
Sparkler Filter and tighten the bolts firmly
2.9
Wipe the platform and outer
portion of the Sparkler Filter with lint free cloth.
2.10
Transfer the Sparkler Filter
to process area and refit it to the filtration lines.
2.11
Check that the area around the sparkler is clean
2.12
Update the Equipment status as “CLEANED”.
2.13
Enter the Cleaning completion time in the equipment
usage log in Format No. F01/SOPPR077-00.
