SOP FOR OPERATION OF HOIST

I.                   PURPOSE

To define the Standard Operating Procedure for Operation of Hoist.

II.                SCOPE

This procedure is applicable for Operation of Hoist in Production Department at Unit-V.

III.             RESPONSIBILITY

Assistant, Executive - Production

 V.       PROCEDURE

1.0      The hoist shall be used only for material movement from one floor to another floor.

2.0      Personnel are not allowed in the Hoist.

3.0      Check the loading capacity of the Hoist on display at operating floors.

4.0      Load the Hoist not more than 75 % of its total loading capacity.

5.0      Bring the Hoist to the operating floor upwards or downwards by pressing push button.

6.0      Open the safety gates.

7.0      Open the cage door and load the material on to the Hoist platform and close the cage

          door.

8.0      Material in Hoist should be placed in closed condition.

9.0      Close the safety gates.   

10.0   Operate the Hoist by pressing the push button i.e. up or down as per the requirement. 

11.0   Open the safety gate, cage door and unload the material from the Hoist.

12.0   Close the cage door and safety gate after unloading the material from the Hoist.

13.0  Keep the Hoist at Ground Floor, when not in use.

            14.0   Keep the safety gates in closed condition at all floors when not in use.
