SOP FOR CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF LAMINAR AIR FLOW



I           PURPOSE

          To describe the procedure for cleaning and maintenance of Laminar air flow.

II         SCOPE

             This procedure is applicable to Quality Control department-Penicillins.

V       PROCEDURE

1.0              Cleaning of laminar air flow (LAF) -daily
            2.0       Clean the UV lights, tube light and manometer with sterile mop.
            3.0       Clean the working table, top and side glass with  filtered 70%  isopropyl alcohol on the grill of                     laminar flow.
            4.0       After cleaning, keep the UV lights “ON” when laminar flow is not in operation.
            5.0       Manometer reading is between 8.0 and 14.0 mm .in ‘ON’ condition and zero in ‘OFF’ condition.
            6.0       Maintain a register F01 to record positive pressures, contents are as per Table-1.
            7.0       Record the cleaning details in register F02 and the contents are as per Table-2.
            8.0       If manometers reading are out of the limit, inform maintenance department for cleaning of filters.
